  2. not ok. Especially because she is pregnant AND nursing! That can't be great for your body...even if it makes you skinny!

  3. Well, actually, my "good grief" was as much about the way it was reported, as what she's doing. Check this out: http://kellymom.com/bf/tandem/index.html If you think about it, in every other culture except western culture, that's exactly what would be done - breastfeeding while pregnant. What else would they do?

That said, it's incredibly hard in my experience. I did it for a while when I got pregnant with Audrey when Hannah was only 8 mos old. I weaned Hannah three months later because I was too wiped out. But, I say, if you can handle it, go you!

  4. You know I saw this article in PARENTS mag about a lady that nursed her 3 kids each for 5 years and they were each five years apart so she nursed for 15 years straight. Honestly THAT to me is weird.

  5. I think it can definitely be taken to extreme. I could see some women doing that for their own comfort and/or attachment, long after their children are ready to move on. I also can't help but wonder about the women's poor husbands!

But, I also don't read news in order to get some journalist's opinion of how someone ought to be raising their children.
